Recap of Mindscaling’s Attendance at ATD 2024

I’m thrilled to share my experience attending the ATD 2024 conference in New Orleans, held from May 19-22. This was the first in-person conference that Mindscaling participated in, and it was a fantastic experience to be surrounded by so many leaders in Talent and Development.

As the Director of Operations at Mindscaling, this event was a wonderful opportunity for me to connect with industry leaders, compare how leadership programs are being built and delivered, and explore how microlearning can support these programs for greater success.

Highlights from ATD 2024

At ATD 2024, I attended several insightful sessions that provided valuable takeaways for enhancing our offerings. Some standout sessions were the “Community Conversations,” where groups of L&D leaders gathered for personal conversations focused on:

  • Strategies for Wellness and Tackling Burnout
  • Leadership Development
  • Business Development for Consultants
  • Joy and Happiness at Work

Several sessions focused on the future of micro-learning, emphasizing the importance of bite-sized, easily digestible content for modern learners. This aligns perfectly with our commitment at Mindscaling to deliver effective and engaging micro-learning courses that cater to busy professionals.

The “Learning Stages” in the Expo hall featured platform demos using new AI software to better track performance and skill gaps in teams, creating personalized learning experiences. Generative AI is being applied in many innovative ways, from automatically assigning descriptions and skills to your entire org chart, to creating an entire online course based on a single prompt within seconds.

I was inspired by the innovative approaches discussed and am excited to integrate some of these ideas into the way we respond to and create specific eLearning needs.

New Direction: Focusing on Small Businesses

A key takeaway from the conference was the growing need for tailored leadership programs for small businesses. I’m excited to announce a new direction for Mindscaling, where we’ll focus on providing turn-key solutions to help small to medium businesses (SMEs) develop robust leadership programs.

Our goal is to simplify the process of planning, presenting, gaining approval, and launching these programs within just a few months.

This new initiative will provide small businesses with the tools they need to cultivate effective behavior change for their leaders. By offering a streamlined, comprehensive approach, I’m confident we can make a significant impact on small businesses’ leadership development efforts.

Final Thoughts

Attending ATD 2024 was an inspiring experience for me and for Mindscaling. I’m eager to implement the new ideas and insights we’ve gained, particularly in our efforts to support small businesses. Our expanded focus on micro-learning and comprehensive annual course subscriptions ensures we continue to provide top-notch training solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
